Hello and Welcome

Hello, I'm Anni Watkins (technically Dr Watkins, but not a medical one and I'm not the least bit formal, so call me Anni!) and I will be teaching Bioscience 3 this year. I'm just getting used to this blog right now, so bear with me. Some useful stuff and some instructions will appear in a short while.

About me:
I came from England (well, technically Wales, but I don't speak Welsh), lived in Fiji 5 years and have been in Dunedin for 17 years now. I have milking sheep and a baby cow and I spend a lot of time making cheese. I make lots of things: Beer, wine, whisky, bread, paint.... and a mess usually. Not sure how many chooks I have!

Please introduce yourself, by leaving a comment on this post (look for the link called "comments" below)

  1. Hi Anni,
I will be one of the 2nd year massage students in your biosci class, so here is a bit about me:
I am originally from Auckland, this will be my 6th year (and last) in Dunedin. I already have a degree in Design Studies, and trained as a pastry chef for 6 months. Currently, I have my own parttime massage business in town and in my spare time I enjoy running, tramping, going to music gigs and some gardening. Look forward to Bio! Cheers, Tessa Grinlinton

Yes well I enjoy doing a lot of things at once as it keeps me entertained.. I think if I had nothing to do with myself I would get bored..

  6. Hi Anni, I'm Mark Dafforn; you helped me years ago from Fiji when I was researching vetiver grass for the National Academy of Sciences. Probably shouldn't tell your students, but this was before the internet and you were "emailing" via bitnet from Fiji using "vax vax" over a phone line to NZ! Well, I was researching that old research tonight and found our correspondence, and now have found you ("I wonder whatever happened to Anni?") Are you also the Brit who famously became a Kiwi in gumshoes (probably shouldn't tell your students that either!)? You seem to have come a long way (as has vetiver ... see vetiver.org), which I'm still doing, and just thought I give a holler of thanks to you - vetivernet@aol.com

  8. Hi Simon, welcome on board. I found your blog and subscribed to it, but there's nothing on there yet, so I'll say hi here instead.
